Do's & Don't's (When planning a Bridal Shower) ♥

  • DO plan Ahead; Get your invitations out early!
  • DO take the time before the party to get organized so the party will run smoothly. Then you'll have time to enjoy it, too.
  • DO consider including men.
  • DON'T surprise the bride.
  • DO have fun with festive decorations. Consider useful decorations or centerpieces incorporating kitchen gadgets or fancy linens that can be presented to the bride at the end of the party.
  • DO include a bunch of bright balloons outside your door to greet guests as they arrive.
  • DO use your best linens and silver if the party isn't too big. Save the matching paper plate ensembles for larger parties or for when you don't have time to wash linens and china.
  • DO present foods attractively; include garnishes.
  • DO know the diet restrictions of your group when planning your menu. If you plan to serve alcoholic beverages or calorie-laden sweets, provide alternatives for those who can't or don't choose to have them.
  • DO serve foods that are easy to eat.
  • DON'T expect people to balance a sit-down meal on their laps.
  • DO have one or two detail-minded people sitting near the bride (or bride & groom) to handle wrappings and to record the gifts received.
  • DON'T give only utilitarian gifts-consider something humorous or fun to help relieve pre-wedding tensions.
  • DO consider inviting the members of the wedding party and the mother of the bride and groom as a courtesy.
  • DO keep the shower short and sweet.
  • DO use the bride's wedding colors in your decorating.
  • DON'T play games that are embarrassing or awkward.
  • DO plan activities that guests will find truly enjoyable and that serve some useful purpose.
  • DO select useful prizes for the guests.
  • Finally... DO have a good time!
Je t'aime! ♥
